Moominvalley has been nominated for the International Emmy® Kids Awards, Annie Awards and Annecy Award to name a few.
Gutsy's productions include L/over, a crossbreed of drama and psychological thriller. It explores how and why coercive control can be the greatest danger in a relationship. What first seems like a love story of the century turns into something horrific. The twisted and distorted love story brings up a question – who will get out of this alive?
L/over was nominated among the seven best concepts at C21 Digital Drama Pitch 2023.

Marika Makaroff, Founder & CCO
Marika Makaroff is an award-winning Content Creator, Producer and Creative Director hailing from Finland. Currently the Chief Creative Officer and Founder of Gutsy Pictures, Marika has worked in media for over 25 years with past roles including Creative Director at Fremantle Media responsible for overseeing all creative development in the Nordics.
Katherine Senior, Commercial Director
Katherine Senior is Commercial Director at Gutsy Pictures. Katherine has a long career in financing, distribution and brand management with over 25 years managing the Mr Bean brand as Executive Producer. Before Gutsy Pictures, Katherine worked at Gutsy Animations leading the financing and sales of the Moominvalley series.
Emmi Nilivaara, Development Executive
Emmi Nilivaara is Development Executive at Gutsy Pictures. Emmi has 10+ years of experience in the TV industry and her previous roles include Concept Developer at Gutsy Animations working across the studio’s Emmy® Award-nominated series ‘Moominvalley’, marketing and development slate.
