Moominvalley TV series wins award at the New York International Children’s Film Festival

HELSINKI, 13th April 2022. Moominvalley, the Emmy Award nominated flagship production by Finnish animation company Gutsy Animations, has won the New York International Children’s Film Festival Audience Episodic Award with its Season 3 episodes. The award is a significant acclaim for the Finnish-British production. The series is based on Tove Jansson's original works and has received numerous awards for previous seasons. Moominvalley is the highest budget TV series in Finland to date. In Finland, it will be seen on Yle in the autumn of 2022. Moominvalley has been sold to more than 60 countries, including Finland (Yle), the United Kingdom (Sky), Japan (NHK) and Germany (ZDF). Its voice cast includes Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), Matt Berry (The IT Crowd, Toast of London), Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous) and Jack Rowan (Peaky Blinders). The directors of the series are animation veterans: Jay Grace (Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit), Darren Robbie (Doc McStuffins, Chicken Run), Nigel Davies (Shaun the Sheep) and Sara Barbas (Shaun the Sheep). Moominvalley won the Best Children's Series award at the famous British Animation Awards. In addition, the series won the TBI Content Innovation Awards 2019 and the Golden Venla 2019. The series is a nominee for the Emmy® Kids Award, and was nominated for both the Broadcast Digital Awards 2020 and the Rockie Award By Banff at the World Media Festival.
