The first drama of Gutsy Pictures, L/over, is competing in the category of Long Form at Canneseries' 8th edition. Canneseries celebrates the best of global production and reveals tomorrow’s talents. The festival promotes an ambitious vision of series: a popular, bold, and ever-evolving art form. This year, the festival reaffirms more than ever its commitment to showcasing works that are both unique and universal.
Gutsy Pictures has just obtained global rights to produce a TV series/film based on the story of Kim Casali, creator of the “Love Is….” brand. The pact was closed with Italian outfit Minikim of Stefano Casali, son of the legendary New Zealander cartoonist who created the world-famous romantic drawings in the late 1960s.
The forthcoming three-part animation/live action “Love Is…” series (its title to be confirmed), billed as “a story of love, loss, strength and success,” will for the first time bring to the screen Kim Casali’s own life story.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with such an iconic brand and bring its inspiring and true love story to life on screen. The blend between heartfelt drama and animation will give a unique touch to the story as well,” said Marika Makaroff, CEO of Gutsy Pictures.
