Moominvalley premiere in Helsinki 2019
Rosamund Pike, Taron Egerton and Jennifer Saunders attend the world premiere of British/Finnish co-production MOOMINVALLEY in Helsinki (25.1.19)
The A-list actors were in Helsinki for the premiere of animated family TV drama MOOMINVALLEY, which will be broadcast over Easter 2019 on Sky One and Sky Kids in the UK and public broadcaster YLE in Finland.
They voice the roles of Moominmamma, Moomintroll and Mymble respectively, and were joined by Swedish actor Edvin Endre, who plays Snufkin, plus members of the Swedish and Finnish language casts.
The MOOMINVALLEY premiere was held at Valkoinen Sali and included a performance from Finnish pop star Roosberg as well as speeches and the screening of an episode.
MOOMINVALLEY is based on the beloved Moomin stories by Finnish-Swedish author and artist Tove Jansson. Each series will consist of 13 x 22-minute-long episodes.
The Moomins are one of Finland’s biggest exports and have a global fan base. They have enjoyed popularity in the UK since the 1950s, when the original Moomin comic strips were published in the Evening News newspaper.
