Marika Makaroff, the creative director of Moominvalley, speaks tomorrow (Fri March 8) about the Moominvalley series and the development and research that went into it at Tampere Film Festival. Moominvalley series by Gutsy Animations had its Finnish premiere on Yle earlier this year. The new animation has sparked interest in Finland and around the world.
Among the things discussed are the possibilities and challenges of having such a huge written material to draw from as well as the procedures involved in creating the personalities of the characters and building the structure of the story.
